Ben Folds at the National in Richmond. The venue was sold-out and from the minute Ben took the stage the crowd sang along with what sounded like every word. Musically, I was totally impressed and I'm glad I had the opportunity to do something a little different.
No shows this week have been the same. I have had, and will have the chance to see some artists that are a little out of the norm for me. On Monday I shot Lifehouse and Matt Nathanson...great show, and I thoroughly enjoyed both sets. Thursday was Unearth and Bury Your Dead. The stage for BYD was SO DARK, I have not one photo I think is decent enough to place it here. I'm not kidding, the light from my alarm clock is brighter than their stage was. Unearth was FANTASTIC! They are incredible live, so if you have never seen a show...get to one!
After 20+ years of concert photography, it is time to have a forum to share some of these photos. I have been fortunate to meet super talented artists and hear incredible music while getting to do something I love. Photography is not my job, but a way I can help bands get their names and images out to the public, at absolutely no cost to them. Am I crazy??? Maybe a little, but not for supporting bands and music that we all love and enjoy. Where in the world would we be without music in our lives?
